“It should also be noted that Twain, who invented cancer and hates puppies, is not even using his real name. Samuel Clemens, wherever you’re hiding, if you have any integrity, you will appear on my show and defend your irrational and unpatriotic beliefs.”
“I will never hand over America’s security decisions to foreign leaders and international bodies that do not have America’s interests at heart.”
-GEORGE W. BUSH, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES 6/10/04
Classically ripped, POP inspired.
Propaganda Paintings, Billboards, Film, Music, and more.
Now why is this brilliance wrapped up in such a crappy website design?

“In ordinary cases of foreign direct investment the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) first conducts a 30-day “review” of the transaction. After the review, the committee makes a judgment as to whether a 45-day “investigation” is necessary to address national security concerns.
The law, however, was amended in 1993. That amendment makes the 45-day investigation mandatory in cases like the Dubai World Ports transfer…”
“…Yet, the investigation never happened. Bush administration officials “could not say why a 45-day investigation did not occur.””
Sunni and Shiite tension, I’m just waiting for Condi to say, “who would have seen that coming?” And isn’t it nice that we have to bribe them into forming a Secular government. Spreading Democracy, one dollar at a time.
“A huge explosion has blown the golden dome off one of the holiest Shiite shrines in the city of Samarra in the third major attack against Shiite targets in as many days…”
“Samarra has been a seat of the Sunni insurgency against the government, and its population is mainly Sunni.
Sectarian tensions are running high as al-Jaafari is under pressure to form a a unity government after the success of Shiite and Kurd parties in a parliamentary election in December.
As consultations on forming the new government have stalled, the US ambassador this week urged al-Jaafari not to form a sectarian government, indicating that aid would not be forthcoming if this occurred.
National Security Adviser Mowaffaq al-Rubaie, a Shiite, blamed Arab Sunni militants and told al-Iraqiya state television that 10 suspects had been arrested in Samarra.”
IRAQ: PROTESTS MOUNT AFTER MASSIVE BLAST DESTROYS SHIITE GOLDEN DOME
All signs point to some secret deal. Bush announced he would veto any legislation to stop the transaction but today he says he didn’t even know about it until it was a done deal. Why would he now distance himself from something he is willing to use his – until now never used – veto power? Is Bush that out of touch, or, is this a scenario where someone else made the deal (Cheney?) and here is the proof that he just rubber stamps whatever comes across his desk from certain someones? None of this passes the smell test.
“President Bush was unaware of the pending sale of shipping operations at six major U.S. seaports to a state-owned business in the United Arab Emirates until the deal already had been approved by his administration, the White House said Wednesday.
Defending the deal anew, the administration also said that it should have briefed Congress sooner about the transaction, which has triggered a major political backlash among both Republicans and Democrats.
Bush on Tuesday brushed aside objections by leaders in the Senate and House that the $6.8 billion sale could raise risks of terrorism at American ports. In a forceful defense of his administration’s earlier approval of the deal, he pledged to veto any bill Congress might approve to block the agreement involving the sale of a British company to the Arab firm.”
UPDATE: Donald Rumsfeld says he didn’t know either, as Secretary of Defense, Rumsfeld is a member of the Committee on Foreign Investments in the United States. As such, he was one of the people who, according to the Treasury Department, unanimously approved the sale on February 13. How could do that when he didn’t even find out about the sale until last weekend?
A late Valentine bossa nova gem for all my lovers, xoxo.

Oh, say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Boy the press is really dropping the ball here. Given the facts of where this took place and where Armstrong was in the car coupled with the inaccuracies of her statements, why is no one asking the actual eye-witness, Willeford, for a statement?
“The picture above (linked) is from Google Earth. Cheney has said over and over that Armstrong was an “eye witness.” But wouldn’t the account of Pamela Willford, who was ostensibly standing right next to Cheney at the time, be much more reliable? Where is she now?”
