Going against the grain of Brown v Board of Ed, simple logic, and for lack of a better word, “good”, the Bush appointed majority of the Supreme Court formed by Chief Justice Roberts, Justices Scalia, Thomas, Alito, and Kennedy have ruled for the absurd.

n his opinion for the majority, Chief Justice John Roberts writes, “Before Brown, schoolchildren were told where they could and could not go to school based on the color of their skin.” But as Justice John Paul Stevens notes in his separate dissent, there is a “cruel irony” in Roberts’s reliance on Brown:

The Chief Justice fails to note that it was only black schoolchildren who were so ordered; indeed, the history books do not tell stories of white children struggling to attend black schools. In this and other ways, the Chief Justice rewrites the history of one of this Court’s most important decisions.

And just in case anyone thinks that everything is just smashing between the races you live in a bubble inside of a bubble.

I find it necessary and quite interesting to point out what the latest Cheney flack is really all about. This is not about keeping records out of Democrats hands. It’s not about not wanting to comply with Cogressional subpoenas. It has nothing to do with executive privilege. So, why would Cheney find it necessary to declare himself a new and convenient fourth branch? Remember the scene in the Falcon and the Snowman where Timothy Hutton’s character is scrambling to cover his tracks when his NSA office gets a spot inspection? That’s what this is about. It has nothing to do with what the secrets are just how they are handled. So, this is about the office that leaked and/or facilitated the leak of a CIA officer not wanting anyone to see if they’re leaving sensitive materials out for the janitor to sweep up. It’s about who has access to the computers. It’s about how freely the VP throws classified material around.
We all know the crimes. And there is certainly plenty of motive.
This is about covering up the means and opportunity.

I got tagged by Voxy at Tampas Back Door Ways.
1. All right, here are the rules.
2. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
3. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
4. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
5. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

So here goes:
1. I’m hilarious (just ask me) but I have no sense of humor.
2. I’m devoutly religious but I don’t believe in God.
3. I drink a LOT of V8 (low sodium, of course).
4. I have a rigid frame and a 93″ shovelhead (turned on yet?).
5. I never adhere to 5th rules. Doesn’t matter what the list is, whatever the 5th rule is I’m rebellin’!
6. There is a constant 3-way battle that rages in my head between The Clash, the Beastie Boys, & Led Zeppelin for who is the best band.
7. I know the answer to any and every of your most pressing ancient Greek art questions.
8. I’m a great hockey player (on the inside).

As for tagging eight bloggers see #5 above.
I will however tag Miklb if only to see if he’s alive. As for the other tags, if you’re reading this… tag.

When: Friday, June 29th, 7:00 PM

And this Friday, John Edwards has made sure you don’t. All you need to join us is your energy, support, enthusiasm, and enough pocket change for a night at the movies.”
