It’s a sad commentary on CNN’s top anchors and WH correspondents when Larry “puffpiece” King is relegated to stating the obvious:
“He did not want to deal with specifics, which tells me, they’re looking at trouble,” King added. “If you don’t want to deal with specifics…I think you’re looking at trouble and you’re looking the other way if you’re denying it.”
Not posting this as an attack on “Judith”, although feel free to make your own judgments. This offers great insight into a man who had an open taxpayer funded extra-marital affair, used his kids for cover, has multiple mega-million dollar residences, and thinks he’s Winston Churchill, yeah I know, another Winston light.
Oh, and Edwards has one big house and a wife, the original one.
The latest report shows less than an hour of electricity in Baghdad per day. Pretty bad news for progress theorists. No worries, the latest report, will be the last report.
Think Progress has noted this disturbing trend by the Bush admin of disappearing bad news. Here’s the very long list of reports no more: TPMmuckraker December 18, 2006 11:46 AM
The list continues with some notable omissions in the comments.
Tuesday. Hump day, and also the one day of my workweek when I really have to focus all of my energy on being the president of the United States of America…
…Back in Washington, I pass some popular legislation making it illegal for rich people to kill poor people. (Why didn’t you think of this, Founding Fathers?) Then, in a courageous political move, I decide to end poverty altogether. “This will be good for America,” I announce in a televised address to the nation. “It’s strange that this never occurred to Franklin Delano Roosevelt or John F. Kennedy. They were pretty great presidents, but keep in mind that this never occurred even to them.”
House Armed Services Committee Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) and Escalation architect ret. Gen. Jack Keane are very seriously worried about the very sensitive feelings of the military. They are also very concerned with semantics.
Hunter, ignorant of the views of numerous national security experts, said to Korb, “I don’t think that any of those people you’ve quoted — did Gen. McCaffrey ever say, ‘the Army is broken?’” Korb responded, “I will give you the exact quote, ‘The ground combat capability of the U.S. Army forces is shot.’”
Korb also has the best solution for ending the war today and waking up the apathetic masses, call for the draft.
…Forward he cried from the rear
and the front rank died.
And the general sat and the lines on the map
moved from side to side.
Black and blue
And who knows which is which and who is who.
Up and down.
But in the end it’s only round and round.
Haven’t you heard it’s a battle of words
The poster bearer cried.
Listen son, said the man with the gun
There’s room for you inside…
Interesting though that just yesterday the Pentagon handed down a bunch of punishments.
With the President claiming executive privilege and not releasing documents on the Tillman investigation to even the family, this looks awfully bad for the President. What could he be hiding that’s so damning to national security?
Edward’s haircut, Obama’s foreign policy, Hillary’s… well apparently her everything, have all been getting the fine tooth treatment from the press and frankly most of the peoples. That’s the way it should be, right? It’s the duty of the press to vet out the every nuance, real or perceived, that define those seeking the highest office in the land. In fact, the process, finely honed over the centuries, is doubled over gasping from all the youtubious effort, and the election is over a year away. Yet here sits the most secretive clan to ever… well, that’s a secret. And we settle for this process.
