The long anticipated second film from the creator of Donnie Darko, David Kelly. If I could recommend one film this year without even seeing it, this is it. Assuming of course that Stanley Kubrick’s estate doesn’t release some hidden gem.
Takes me back to the good old days.

ok not really but…File this one under SciFi, because yes Virginia, there really is anti-matter, and bullshit really really can fly.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Thursday the Bush administration is waging a “phony war” on terrorism, warning that the country is losing ground against the kind of Islamic radicals who attacked the country on Sept. 11, 2001.
A more effective approach, said Gingrich, would begin with a national energy strategy aimed at weaning the country from its reliance on imported oil and some of the regimes that petro-dollars support.
“None of you should believe we are winning this war. There is no evidence that we are winning this war,” the ex-Georgian told a group of about 300 students attending a conference for collegiate conservatives….
“We were in charge for six years,” he said, referring to the period between 2001 and early 2007, when the GOP controlled the White House and both houses of Congress. “I don’t think you can look and say that was a great success.”
This is a, “can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em”, tactic to the Nth degree, literally stealing the Democratic platform.
Makes me feel icky knowing he’s been secretly trolling around here looking for ideas.

Yeah, 5 miles from my house. Luckily it was missing “the part on top that goes boom”.
And so continues the great performance art experiment known as Florida…

UPDATE:
obviously dropped there by the stealth bomber on Tampa’s flag.

You have claimed not to be responsible in any of them, usually listing the cause of the accident as either “Sneak attack by Decepticons” or “Unavoidable damage caused by protecting freedom for all sentient beings.”
I just turned on the boob tube and Fearless Freaks just started on Sundance Channel.

The media is sure quick to jump on anything wrong with the Apple Iphone. And all they can turn up is that it’s taking a few hours for a few customers to activate their phones. First off, did anyone think that a million or so people trying to activate their phones all at once late on a friday afternoon was going to go smoothly? Second, the people who can find it in their lives to sleep out overnight or wait for hours and hours can’t possibly wait a few more? Americans sure are impatient.
More importantly no one seems to be reporting on what the real breakthrough of this device is and that is: a true, just like at home, internet browser. This is not the dumbed down device version, it’s a full fledged browser. For the first time real mobile internet with all the media bells and whistles. That’s the point.

The Washington Post is in the process - part 3 of 4 tomorrow - of the ultimate reveal of Dick Cheney, and there’s a hell of a lot more levers, pulleys, and dials than Oz ever dreamed of.
But I’ve already seen this movie.
As an aside to a post last week featuring a few monstas, I take (some of) you back to Saturday afternoon.
…and it goes a little something like this:
